DecodeLove, Inc. (“Decode Love,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an AI-powered relationship-support platform for adults. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal information through our websites, applications, electronic communications, marketing activities and related services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Service”).

The Service may include relationship questionnaires, relationship-satisfaction scores, Couple Archetypes, linked partner accounts and an AI-powered relationship-support tool called the Decode Love Coach. Certain genetic features may be offered separately in the future and will require additional disclosures and consent before activation.

The Service is not a medical, psychological, therapeutic or other clinical service. Information submitted to the Coach is not protected by therapist-client, physician-patient or similar professional privilege.

Personal information we collect

Information you provide

• Contact and account information, such as your name, alias, email address, telephone number, login credentials, age confirmation, mailing address and account settings.
• Profile and demographic information, such as date of birth, age range, gender, pronouns, city, state, country, relationship status, relationship length, interests, preferences, biography and profile image.
• Relationship and wellness information, such as intake responses, relationship history, communication patterns, satisfaction responses, goals, areas of friction, intimacy or sexual-life information, emotional or mental-health-related statements, safety concerns and other information you choose to provide about yourself or your relationship.
• Coach content, including prompts, questions, messages, voice transcriptions if enabled, responses generated by the Coach, feedback, flags and associated metadata.
• Derived information, such as Love Satisfaction Scores, Couple Archetypes, trait or cluster scores, suggested patterns, summaries and other inferences generated from information available through your account. These outputs are informational and are not clinical assessments or diagnoses.
• Partner and invite information, such as a partner’s name and contact details, information a linked partner separately provides, and your own perceptions or statements about another person. Do not provide another person’s contact information unless you have permission to do so.
• Communications and support information, including emails, feedback, complaints, safety reports and other communications with us.
• Transaction information, such as subscription status, transaction history and information needed to complete an order. Payment-card information is collected directly by our payment processor and is handled under its privacy policy.
• Marketing preferences and engagement information, such as whether you opened a message or selected a link.
• User content, such as comments, reviews, survey responses, images or other material you choose to submit outside a private Coach interaction.

Sensitive information

Some information processed through the Service may be sensitive under applicable law, including relationship and sexual-life information, mental-health-related information, safety disclosures, precise location if enabled, account credentials, and genetic information if future genetic features are activated. We process sensitive information to provide requested features, protect users and the Service, comply with law, and for other purposes disclosed when the information is collected. Where required, we obtain consent or provide additional choices.

Genetic information if separately activated

The Coach beta described in this policy does not require genetic information. If Decode Love later activates genetic features, we may collect a raw genetic-data file that you choose to upload, information generated by an authorized laboratory or processing partner, and trait scores or other derived insights. Before collecting or processing genetic information, we will provide a separate consent explaining the specific data collected, purposes, recipients, retention, deletion and revocation rights. We will not use genetic information for medical diagnosis, insurance, employment, credit or risk-assessment decisions.

Information from other sources

We may receive information from a linked partner, identity or login provider, service provider, analytics provider, advertising platform, research collaborator, event partner or publicly available source. Information supplied by one partner about the other reflects the submitting partner’s perspective unless the other partner separately verifies it.

Information collected automatically

We and our service providers may collect device, browser, operating-system, IP-address, general-location, log, diagnostic, page-view, navigation, session, security and communication-interaction information. If you authorize precise location, you may disable it through your device settings.

Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, pixels and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, security, performance, analytics and, where permitted, advertising. We do not intend to disclose the text of Coach conversations, intake responses, Love Satisfaction Scores, Couple Archetypes tied to an identifiable person, or genetic information to advertising platforms for targeted advertising. Our cookie controls and applicable opt-out mechanisms provide additional choices where required by law.

How we use personal information

Provide and personalize the Service

• Create and maintain accounts, link partner accounts at each user’s direction, deliver invitations and operate requested features.
• Generate scores, Archetypes, Coach responses and other personalized outputs using information available through the account.
• Process transactions, administer beta access and communicate about service, security and account matters.
• Provide support, respond to feedback and troubleshoot technical issues.

Coach processing safety screening and limited review

We use automated systems to process Coach prompts and responses, generate replies, detect possible safety concerns, prevent misuse, and support the security and operation of the Service. Automated systems may fail to identify a concern or may flag content incorrectly.

A limited number of authorized Decode Love personnel and service providers may review selected Coach interactions, including interactions flagged by automated systems or reported by a user, to investigate safety concerns, respond to reports, troubleshoot failures, enforce our Terms, evaluate quality and improve the Service. Access is limited to personnel with a business need and is subject to appropriate confidentiality and security controls. Where reasonably practicable and supported by our workflow, we limit or obscure direct identifiers during review.

Research development and AI improvement

We may analyze Service usage, feedback, prompts, outputs and derived metrics to test, evaluate and improve Decode Love features and safety systems. We may create aggregated or de-identified information and use it for lawful research, analytics, product development and business purposes. We do not attempt to reidentify de-identified information except to test whether our de-identification practices comply with law.

We do not permit a third-party AI provider to use Decode Love Coach content to train its general-purpose models except where we have clearly disclosed that use and obtained any consent required by law. Decode Love may use selected content to evaluate or improve its own systems as described here and in any additional choice presented in the Service. Identifiable genetic information will not be used to train AI models without separate express consent.

Safety security compliance and protection

We may use personal information to secure accounts, prevent fraud or misuse, investigate harmful or unlawful activity, protect users or others, enforce our Terms, comply with legal obligations and lawful process, establish or defend legal claims, and respond to emergencies where permitted by law. Decode Love is not an emergency service and does not guarantee that it will detect or respond to any particular safety concern.

Marketing

We may send marketing communications as permitted by law. You may opt out of marketing email through the unsubscribe link. Consent to promotional text messages is optional and is not a condition of purchasing or using the Service. We do not use genetic information for marketing.

How we disclose personal information

• Service providers that host, secure, analyze, support or operate the Service, subject to contractual restrictions appropriate to their role.
• AI providers, including Anthropic, that process prompts, relevant account context and outputs to provide Coach functionality. Their retention and use are governed by our agreements and applicable settings.
• A linked partner, but only for information the Service identifies as shared or that you choose to share. A linked partner does not automatically receive the words you enter in an individual Coach conversation or the Coach’s responses to you, unless you affirmatively share them or the Service clearly tells you otherwise before sharing.
• Research collaborators, when permitted by law and consistent with applicable consent. Identifiable genetic information is shared for research only with separate express consent or informed consent where required.
• Payment processors, professional advisers, auditors, insurers, fraud-prevention providers and other business-support providers.
• Law enforcement, regulators, courts or other parties when we reasonably believe disclosure is required or permitted by law, necessary to protect rights or safety, or appropriate to respond to legal process.
• Parties to an actual or proposed financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections where practicable.
• Other persons at your direction or with your consent.

Decode Love does not make private profiles, Coach conversations or genetic information publicly searchable. We do not sell genetic information. We do not disclose genetic information to employers, insurers or risk-assessment businesses, and we disclose it to law enforcement or government authorities only when legally required or compelled.

Partner accounts and relationship boundaries

Each partner maintains a separate account. When accounts are linked, the Service identifies which scores, Archetypes, profile information or couple-level information may be shared. One partner’s private Coach transcript is not automatically visible to the other. Information submitted by one partner about the other remains attributable to the submitting partner’s perspective unless independently verified. Either partner may unlink an account, but unlinking may affect access to couple-level features and derived information. The Service will explain the effect of unlinking or deletion at the relevant control.

Retention and deletion

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security and safety records, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, conduct appropriately disclosed research and protect legal rights. Retention depends on the type and sensitivity of information, the purpose of processing, the duration of the account relationship, legal obligations, and the risk associated with continued retention.

When you delete an account or submit a valid deletion request, we delete or de-identify covered personal information from active systems within the period required by applicable law, subject to legal exceptions and reasonable backup cycles. Information may remain where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution or the protection of rights. Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be linked to you may be retained. Information already incorporated into a model or aggregate analysis may not be technically removable, but we will not continue using identifiable source content after a valid deletion request except as legally permitted.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or portability; obtain information about processing; withdraw consent; restrict or object to certain processing; and opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling. We may verify your identity and may deny a request where permitted by law. Authorized agents may submit requests where applicable. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.

You may update certain account information through settings and unsubscribe from marketing email through the message link. You may opt out of promotional text messages by replying STOP; message and data rates may apply.

Genetic privacy rights if genetic features are activated

If we process your genetic information, you may request access to a portable copy or representative summary, correction, deletion of genetic information in our possession or control, destruction of a biological specimen held on our behalf, and revocation of consent, subject to applicable law. We will complete verified deletion or destruction requests within the period required by applicable law and any shorter period stated in the applicable genetic consent. Revocation will apply prospectively and may make genetic features unavailable.

SMS/text messaging privacy

We may collect and use your mobile phone number to send you text messages that you have requested or agreed to receive, including account updates, customer support messages, or promotional messages.

We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share information with service providers that help us send and manage text messages on our behalf.

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or contact us at hello@decodelove.com.

Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Safeguards may include access controls, logging, encryption in transit and at rest, separation or pseudonymization of especially sensitive data, vendor controls and incident-response procedures. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, confidentiality or anonymity.

Health information and breach response

Certain information processed through the Service may constitute consumer health information under applicable law. Decode Love maintains an incident-response process designed to investigate unauthorized access, acquisition or disclosure and to provide legally required notices to affected individuals, regulators or others.

Children and teens

The Service is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly permit minors to create accounts. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact privacy@decodelove.com. We will investigate and take action required by law.

International users and transfers

Decode Love is based in the United States. Personal information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we and our service providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from those in your location. Where required, we use an appropriate legal mechanism for cross-border transfers. The availability of the Service in a location does not mean every feature is lawful or offered there.

Third party services and links

The Service may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. Linking to a third party does not mean that Decode Love controls or endorses its practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated version and revise the last-updated date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by law. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date.
